Story 1
The Highway and Bridge Maintenance Division maintains the three bascule (draw-) bridges over the New River in Downtown Fort Lauderdale. The Marshall Bridge, built in 1964 underwent a major overhaul in 2002.
Our welder makes emergency repairs to the traffic barrier on the Andrews Avenue Bridge over the New River in Fort Lauderdale.
We are responsible for approximately 83 fixed bridges throughout the county and regularly schedule FDOT recommended repairs.
