Updated FEMA Flood Maps to be Released in 2011

As part of the nationwide flood map modernization initiative, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is in the process of preparing the first comprehensive review of flood zones throughout Broward County in 14 years. The updated flood maps will be used as the new basis for determining flood insurance purchase requirements, flood insurance rates and minimum finished floor elevations for new construction and substantial improvements throughout the County.
