MOUNTAIN BIKE TRAILS
Markham Park (Sunrise)
For ages 6 and up
8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
$5 for a daily pass; $25 for an annual pass. The park's regular weekend and holiday gate entrance fee of $1.50/person (children 5 and under free) will be in effect.
The park’s mountain bike trails (novice and intermediate) are open daily, for bicyclists ages 6 and up. First-time riders must sign a waiver in the park office before using the trails. For more information call the park at 954-357-8868. Accessible from Broward County Transit Route #23.

SOUTH BROWARD WHEELERS BICYCLE CLUB NEW RIDERS RIDE
Lester's Diner (Sunrise)
For adults.
Check-in is at 7:15 a.m.; ride starts at 7:30 a.m.
The pace is 10-14 mph for 15-20 miles. The ride leader will provide information on how to ride with a group and how to improve your riding skills. If you plan to attend, you must call Celia at 954-830-0098 no later than Friday before the ride.

BIKE RIDE WITH FORT LAUDERDALE MAYOR JACK SEILER

If you're looking for a morning of fun the best place to be is our "Ride with the Mayor"! Broward B-cycle is hosting a fun-spirited bike ride with Fort Lauderdale Mayor Jack Seiler, Fort Lauderdale City Manager Lee Feldman, and other City of Fort Lauderdale officials with a relaxed atmosphere on Saturday, February 1, starting at 8 a.m. You can pick up B-cycles early at nearby B-stations from George English Park, Holiday Park, or any of the other B-cycle locations. The group will ride South along the ocean, West on Las Olas, and end downtown at Esplanade Park with a reception, beverages, snacks, light discussion, and photos. Bikers can join us at any point along the ride! Check out a B-cycle, bring your beach cruiser, your custom bike or your "go fast" race bike. ALL RIDERS ARE WELCOME! TRAFFIC SAFETY EDUCATION PRESENTATION AND BICYCLE RODEO TRAINING

This workshop teaches participants how to fit bicycle helmets correctly, bicycle/pedestrian laws and safety tips, defensive walking and bicycling skills, and how to conduct a bicycle rodeo. Participants will ride bicycles to practice the skills they will teach children during rodeos and in other educational settings. Anyone interested in teaching children about bicycle and pedestrian safety is encouraged to attend. Preregistration is required. The Town of Davie Police & Fire Department and zMotion Foundation are having a special family fun bicycle event at Vista View Park.  Children and parents are invited to bring their bicycles for a safety check and then there will be a short ride around the park. Davie Police will also be on hand to make child identification cards.  There will be fun, prizes, samples of healthy snacks, and representatives from Alex’s Bicycle Store to talk about bicycling. Children can receive a free bicycle helmet (while supplies last). Food Trucks will be on hand for snacks and drinks!  For more information, call the park at 954-357-8898.

WEST LAKE PARK PEDDLE AND PADDLE PROGRAM
West Lake Park (Hollywood)
Ages 10 and up

Fee(s): $19/person: single kayak or canoe; $24/person: Double kayak or canoe.The park's regular weekend and holiday gate entrance fee of $1.50/person (children 5 and under free) will be in effect.
Bring your bike and join us for a one hour nature bike hike at West Lake Park. Participants must provide your own beach cruiser/trail type bicycle (racing bikes w/skinny tires are not appropriate) and bike rentals are not available. A helmet is required to be worn while bike riding (not provided). Following the bike hike will be a one-hour leisurly tour along the the mangrove estuary paddling trails of West Lake. Participants have a choice of choosing the park’s single kayak, double kayak, or a canoe. Personal floatation devices (which must be worn on the water) and paddles are provided by the park. Ages 12 and under must have an adult in the boat with them at all times. Ages 13-17 require parent/guardian signature to go alone in the boat but must be accompanied by a parent/guardian in another boat. Preregistration and prepayment are required. Participants will watch a video on bicycle safety and then navigate an obstacle course on their bikes. A deejay will be playign music and prize giveaways will also be taking place.
