Scout and Leader  Scout  Scout with Trash Cans

Ryan, an Eagle Scout from troop 224, built two raccoon-proof crates for Anne Kolb Nature Center to prevent raccoons from getting into trash and throwing garbage around. His mission was also to fulfill the requirements set by Joanne Howes, Parks Naturalist at the nature center. The crates needed Plexiglass on the lids, and the lids also had to be light enough so that children could lift it up, while at the same time heavy enough so that raccoons and other animals open them.

Thanks to Ryan for volunteering to improve Anne Kolb Nature Center!
