Broward County Parks and Recreation Division has been active in social media since it officially launched a Facebook page in October 2010, to help promote park programs and facilities with daily postings. A YouTube channel soon followed, with videos posted from March 2011 forward to provide viewers with a first-person point of view of some of the experiences you can have at a Broward County Park. A Parks Twitter account became active in March 2012.

In June 2012 our Facebook page and YouTube channel were both recipients of Meritorious Awards from the National Association of County Information Officers (NACIO). An affiliate of the National Association of Counties, NACIO has members from more than 3,000 counties, parishes, and boroughs nationwide. Its annual Awards of Excellence Competition honors the best public information and community outreach efforts by local governments throughout the country.
