NatureScape Broward conducts irrigation system evaluations at Broward County Public Schools, documenting the amount of water being used and identifying opportunities for improving performance and efficiency. Since February 2013, 32 evaluations have been completed at 16 schools resulting in the savings of more than 11 million gallons of water per year. Since June 2009, when evaluations began, 300 irrigation evaluations have been conducted at 142 schools, resulting in the savings of over 190,000,000 gallons of water per year. That translates not only to savings in water, but also reduces energy costs. To schedule an evaluation, or learn more about the process, contact Maena Angelotti, Water Conservation Specialist, at 954-519-1462.
