Center for Climate Change and Environmental Forecasting: The Center for Climate  Change and Environmental Forecasting is an initiative of the U.S. Department of Transportation, dedicated to fostering awareness of the potential links between transportation and global climate change, and to formulating policy options to deal with the challenges posed by these links.

Impacts of Climate Change and Variability on Transportation Systems and Infrastructure: Gulf Coast Study, Phase I.: March 2008. A 445 page report by the U.S. Climate Change Science Program and the Subcommittee on Global Change Research provides an assessment of the vulnerabilities of transportation systems in the region to potential changes in weather patterns and related impacts, as well as the effect of natural land subsidence and other environmental factors in the region. 

King County, WA Comprehensive Plan 2008 Ch. 7, Transportation, E. Climate Change, Air Quality, and the Environment: 2008. This is a recently written comprehensive plan element on transportation and climate change.

Integrating Climate Change into the Transportation Planning Process: June 2008. The objective of this 59 page report is to advance the practice and application of transportation planning among state, regional, and local transportation planning agencies to successfully meet growing concerns about the relationship between transportation and climate change.

Full Speed Ahead: Creating Green Jobs Through Freight Rail Expansion:  2010. The 13 page report was produced by the Blue Green Alliance, a coalition of labor and environmental organizations.  The report highlights the important benefits of freight rail in several areas, including job creation, climate change/greenhouse gas reduction, decreased foreign oil dependence, Infrastructure investment and Global competitiveness.
