The Friends of Broward County Library, Inc. is an "umbrella" organization of 32 local chapters. It has been instrumental in the growth of the library system since 1975, brings together the leaders of local Friends groups at meetings at the county, state and federal level; and helps to sustain county, state and federal funding for the library system.
Monthly meetings provide opportunities for Friends to share successful ideas and plan for the future. Advocacy efforts of board members include participation in Library Days in Tallahassee and trips to Washington while Congress is in session. The Executive Board is comprised of individuals from local chapters and members-at-large help to guide and support the Friends. They are available as a resource to the local chapters.
