Print Sources

The Reference Section, located on the fifth floor of the Broward County Main Library, has a small print collection of documents of the United Nations and other international organizations. Titles include Demographic Yearbook, International Trade Statistics Yearbook, and Statistical Yearbook.

Microfiche Collections

A more extensive collection of United Nations documents is available through the Section's microfiche collection of United Nations documents, from 1982 through 2000.

The Section also has an extensive collection of statistical data and reports from other major international organizations through the Index to International Statistics Microfiche Library, from Congressional Information Service. A series of books that accompany the microfiche collection provide indexes and abstracts for the statistical publications from international organizations.. 

Treaties

Treaties are agreements made between two or more sovereign on any subject of mutual concern from setting fishing limits to ending wars.

The Reference Section has a collection of national and international treaties. 

National treaties between the United States and other parties are published in the following sources:

Treaties and Other International Agreements of the United States of, America, 1776-1949 (Bevans)

This is a compilation containing United States treaties and agreements through 1949.

United States Treaties and Other International Agreements, 1950-present (UST)

This is a compilation containing U.S. treaties and agreements from 1950 to the present.

Unperfected Treaties of the United States of America, 1776-1976

This is a collection containing the texts of treaties which have not received Senate approval or have not been ratified by the President.

International treaties, to which the United States may or may not be a party, are published in the following sources:

Consolidated Treaty Series, 1648-1918

This 230-volume series includes the text of every known international treaty during the specified time period.

League of Nations Treaty Series, 1918-1945

This set, available through the LLMC microfiche collection, contains major international treaties entered into during the life of the League of Nations.

United Nations Treaty Series, 1946-present

This set, also available through the LLMC microfiche collection, includes treaties entered into by any member of the United Nations, beginning in 1946.

A large collection of treaties between the United States Government and American Indian Nations are also housed in the Reference Section.
