Sources -- Books
The Reference Section, located on the fifth floor of the Broward County Main Library, has directories of companies at the local and state, levels including Dun’s Regional Business Directory and Florida Manufacturer’s Directory.
Note: Books on companies and industries are available at many branches of the Broward County Library and are generally classified in the 338 Dewey Decimal section of the library.
Reference Databases
Business and Company Resource Center (website) provides directory listings and profiles of major companies with links to periodical articles, investment reports, financials, rankings, suits and claims, products, industry overviews, and associations relating to each company.
Reference USA (website) provides directory information and company profiles for businesses of all types and sizes throughout the U.S. Lists of companies may be accessed by type of business, geographic area, business size, and many other categories. Links are provided to the web sites of each company. In addition, links to stock market information, EDGAR files, and Annual Reports are available for public companies.

This is a searchable and annotated subject directory of internet resources that provide accurate, factual information on many topics. Select “Business” and then “Company Histories, General” or “Company Histories, Specific” or type a keyword in the search box.
Annual Reports - website
This is an online library of annual reports of public companies. You may search by exchange, industry, sector, or alphabet.
Dun & Bradstreet Information Services - website
Credit reports and other company reports may be purchased.
EDGAR Online - website
EDGAR contains annual (10K) and quarterly (10Q) company reports filed with the SEC.
Hoover Online: Companies and Industries - website
Company overviews and annual balance sheets are provided for free. Detailed company reports may be purchased.
ThomasNet - website
Access to this online directory of manufacturers is free, but registration is required. Search by company name, brand name, or industrial product or service.
