NATURE OF WORK
This is administrative work in the collection, computation, and presentation of statistical information.
Work involves responsibility for the collection of operational data, making mathematical calculations, and performing related administrative duties associated with providing detailed statistical information and reports. Work is performed with relative independence on routine activities and operations. An professional superior reviews the work for technical accuracy and compliance with desired results.
ILLUSTRATIVE TASKS
Compiles raw and summary data from operational materials and sources, makes mathematical calculations using a manual calculator and/or computer.
Researches and coordinates data supporting programs of division/office.
Tracks, collates, and disseminates information requested or required by other agencies.
Recommends reporting formats and procedures.
Prepares statistical reports summarizing the activities of the division/office.
Performs related work as required.
KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS
Knowledge of the standard terminology, techniques and practices of data collection and basic statistical analysis.
Knowledge of the techniques for the presentation of statistical data.
Some knowledge of computer software utilized in producing statistical reports.
Ability to research, organize, and analyze information.
Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
Ability to serve the public and fellow employees with honesty and integrity in full accord with the letter and spirit of Broward County's Ethics and Conflict of Interest policies.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the general public, co-workers, elected and appointed officials and members of diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds regardless of race, religion, age, sex, disability, political affiliation or sexual orientation.
Skill in the use of computer equipment and manual calculators.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING
Graduation from a four-year college or university with major course work in business, public administration, economics or field related to area of assignment; or any equivalent combination of relevant training and experience.
