RTT SPECIALIST II

SUMMARY:

This is specialized clerical work performed under general to limited supervision involving a variety of office and clerical duties and other assignments associated with preliminary and post document recording, collection of taxes, issuance of motor vehicle license plates and titles, records management functions, and tourist development tax collection with possible lead worker responsibility. Cashiering and customer service skills are required.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS:
 
This classification is distinguished from a RTT Specialist I by the ability to work independently with general to limited supervision and by the greater variety of experience required.
 
TASKS:
(May perform the following in the several sections of Records, Taxes and Treasury Division, including Tax Collection, Recording, Auto Tags, Tourist Development Taxes and Records Management):
All of the tasks and responsibilities of the RTT Specialist I plus the following, if assigned:
 
Performs review and reconciliation of reports, deposits and documentation for County or other purposes related in the assigned RTT section, including tax collections, vehicle/vessel transactions, document recording and records management transactions.

Independently researches and resolves complex technical questions in the assigned RTT section.

Assists with training in the assigned RTT section, as needed.

Performs related work as required.
KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS:

In addition to the Knowledge, Abilities and Skills of the RTT Specialist I:

Knowledge of the types and locations of various materials and services within the assigned RTT section.
 
Ability to understand, follow and explain a variety of County or other policies and procedures, including procedures for cash handling, checks, and credit card transactions.

Ability to multi-task.

Ability to perform routine/minor maintenance/repairs on a variety of office and computer related equipment.

Ability to serve the public and fellow employees with honesty and integrity in full accord with the letter and spirit of Broward County's Ethics and Conflict of Interest policies.
 
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the general public, co-workers, elected and appointed officials and members of diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds, regardless of race, color, religion, gender, national origin, age, marital status, political affiliation, familial status, disability, sexual orientation, pregnancy, or gender identity and expression.
REQUIRED TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
Successful completion of job related tests. Eighteen (18) months of revenue collection, vehicle/vessel registration, document recording, records management, or closely related work desired.
