Course Description:
The course allows participants to practice EOC operations in a large-scale incident coached by instructors who have emergency management experience and who provide this training nationally. They will use multi-agency coordination responsibilities, processes, and procedures and focus on key information management, resources coordination and situational awareness requirements within the EOC. The participants gain practical experience (virtual) within a state-of-the-art training environment that exploits the capabilities of computer simulation.
Objective:
Each participant will gain a better understanding of the management requirements and skills necessary to effectively function as a member of an EOC during a large-scale event.
Target Audience:
Eligible participants include emergency management and response personnel who currently or potentially work in an EOC at the state, local, tribal or DoD installation level.
Positions benefiting from this course include first line supervisor level personnel, single resource leader, field supervisor and other emergency management personnel that require a higher level of NIMS/ICS training from the following disciplines/services:
· Fire Service
· Emergency Medical Services (EMS)
· Hazardous Materials (HazMat)
· Law Enforcement (LE)
· Public Health (PH)
· Public Works (PW)
· Emergency Management (EM)
· Government administrative
· Private Sector and military (if invited by the host jurisdiction)
· County, state, and federal agency personnel who will respond with a
local jurisdiction during a WMD/terrorism incident
