District 9 Message for Commissioner Dale V.C. Holness:

Commissioner Holness being sworn inIt is an honor to represent the residents of District 9.  I believe that our Central Broward community is at the beginning of a great renaissance.  My vision for the future is to maintain and enhance the quality of life that attracts people to our community and supports a business friendly environment that encourages employers to bring jobs to the district while providing security and safety for our residents.  The success of Central Broward Regional Park, the promise of the Lauderhill Performing Arts Center and the recent transformation of the cities within District 9 provides the nexus for economic development in the immediate future. In the long term, continued development of the SR-441 corridor and re-development of our residential and business centers will move us forward in the future.  I will continue to encourage businesses to locate here, bringing high paying jobs so that our residents can work closer to home.  Other priorities include improving transportation, accelerating street improvements, widening roads and reducing traffic congestion.  I also know our quality of life means maintaining beautiful neighborhoods, enhancing parks and providing recreational amenities.  The momentum is underway in District 9 and strong leadership is now in place.  Together, through teamwork and a shared vision, we can create a great future for our community!
