Broward County provides a host of services that can make your life easier and you may not even know about them! A visit to Broward.org provides useful information and allows you to do a number of things without ever leaving home.
For instance, property tax bills are mailed out in November and if you pay them early you’ll save some money. Homeowners save 4% if paid in November, 3% if paid in December, 2% if paid in January and 1% if paid in February. You can also pay your current taxes in up to five partial payments. Each of the first four payments must be more than $100 and each must include a $10 processing fee. The 5th payment must be payment in full, include the $10 processing fee and must be made by March 31st to avoid delinquency. There will be no discount allowed. You can pay your taxes online by MasterCard, Visa, American Express or Discover. There is a convenience fee. You can also pay using your checking account online. There is no fee for this service. You’ll find all the information you need at Broward.org/Revenue.
Renewing your automobile or vehicle tag is also just a few keyboard strokes away. If you go to the website Broward.org/RecordsTaxesTreasury you can click on the link “auto tag renewal.” Good news! You can renew for two years, saving time and money. You can also renew or replace a lost driver’s license or identification card at that website.
It’s also easy to purchase a bus pass online. Again, go to Broward.org and click on the link that says “Purchase Bus Pass.” You can use a MasterCard, Visa, American Express or Discover Card. Once you enter your payment information and make a selection on the type of bus pass you’d like to purchase all you have to do is just checkout and your bus pass will be sent to you in the mail.
Want to read that latest #1 Best Seller? Go to Broward.org/Library and click on Materials, Renew and Hold, to reserve a copy. No time to finish that novel? In some cases, you can even renew your books online or by phone.
I think you’ll be quite surprised by all of the online services that are available on the Broward County website. While you’re there visit my website at Broward.org/sue. It is November and again time to celebrate our Veterans, those brave men and women who have served our great country every day, both far away and at home, to protect the freedoms we all enjoy. How appropriate that it is also Thanksgiving! Happy Thanksgiving to all!!!
