The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and the U.S. Department of the Treasury released their monthly housing market report for May. The scorecard announces "In the first quarter of 2013, homeowners’ equity grew by more than $815 billion, reaching its highest level since the first quarter of 2008." The scorecard includes the 2013’s first quarter report for the Making Home Affordable Program, which shows improvements in the implementation and outcomes of the program and foreclosure mitigation programs, including Home Affordable Modification Program (HAMP), are also reported to show continued success. Deadline for Making Home Affordable Program Extended

The U.S. Department of the Treasury and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) have extended the deadline for the Making Home Affordable Program, which originally expired on December 31, 2013, to a future deadline of December 31, 2015. The program is the Obama Administration’s effort to provide relief to homeowners facing foreclosure. The new deadline was also pushed forward so that it would correspond with deadlines for the Home Affordable Refinance Program (HARP) and the Streamlined Modification Initiative. Broward Housing Council Releases 2012 Annual Report

The Broward Housing Council presents the culmination of its accomplishments, areas of emphasis, allocation strategies and program funding for Fiscal Year (FY) 2012 in the newly published annual report. Broward Housing Council Chair, Commissioner Lois Wexler, introduces the report with a personal message citing both the challenges and achievements that the Council has experienced. The report also features success stories of affordable housing and homelessness within Broward County, including: new developments, rehabilitated developments and a personal account of overcoming homelessness.
