Purpose:
To heighten awareness of American and International independent film through screenings, seminars, works-in-progress, and special events.


Projects:
The 37-day long film festival takes place annually from Mid October - late November.  Year-round activities and events for FLIFF members and others are primarily held at FLIFF's art-house the Cinema Paradiso, formerly known as the Vinnette Carroll Theatre, 503 SE 6th St, Fort Lauderdale (just east of Broward County Courthouse). Activities include nightly films, Movies of the Month, educational seminars, the Academy Award Party & Telecast, and fundraisers such as The Annual CAN Film Festival in December; free outdoor Maroone Moonlight Movies are held monthly at various locations in Broward County.
