Purpose: The Conservatory of Music is the consolidating entity for musical study and performances at FAU College of Liberal Arts, where it offers instruction in piano, violin, viola, and cello performances with a context of the liberal arts. Lessons for ensemble and individual instruments are complemented by courses in pedagogy, piano literature, string literature, chamber music literature, music history, Russian music and culture, South American music and culture, as well as music theory.
Projects: Degree courses include: Bachelor of Music in Performance; Bachelor of Music in Chamber Music and Accompanying; Master of Arts in Music; Minor in Music: Emphases in Music Performance; Piano Performance; Music Literature and Theory. Performances include student recitals, free and open to the public at the College of Liberal Arts and at the Broward Main Library, and the annual professional series by the FAU Chamber Soloists, including the multi-media concerts "Roots of Classical Music."
