The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) is an unprecedented effort to jumpstart the nation's troubled economy with an economic stimulus plan totaling $787 billion in spending and tax cuts. This largest single cash infusion into the economy in American history was signed into law by President Barack Obama on February 17, 2009.

Job Saved campaign.American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) grant funds, made possible through the National Endowment for the Arts, were awarded in 2009 in partnership with Southern Arts Federation's nine member state arts agencies.

These grants protect and preserve jobs in the nonprofit arts sector that were threatened by the current economic downturn, and are unique and important validation about the impact that artists and arts organizations have on the national economy.
