About The Teaching Artist Recognition Award
Teaching artists are crucial to the sustainability and advancement of arts education. To increase public awareness of the importance of arts education in our everyday lives, the Arts Teacher of the Year Program was expanded in 2013 to recognize and promote not only school-based arts teachers, but also teaching artists working throughout Broward County schools and communities.
The Teaching Artist Recognition Award honors an outstanding teaching artist who has demonstrated dedication, achievement and professionalism in the arts education field. The recipient of this award will be presented with a recognition plaque and a cash gift.
