Anthony Lauro received his B.F.A. form the Maryland Institute, College of Art and his M.F.A. from Temple University, Tyler School of Art. Prior to becoming the Deputy Director of the Museum of Art/Fort Lauderdale, Lauro was a full Professor and the Dean of Media Studies at the Columbus College of Art and Design.
He has been an Artist in Residence in both Dresden, Germany and Kasama City, Japan. He has received both an N.E.A. individual Artist grant and a Ohio Arts Council Individual Artist grant. While acting as Deputy Director of the Museum Lauro began the Museum’s Studio Art School. Presently serving over 700 students, grades 1-12 and adults.
