Narratives for all programs:
Give age appropriate curriculum guided entertainment that stimulates students' imagination.
Tell stories from diverse cultures in the world which teach tolerance for others' ways of thinking and often present environmental concerns that are universal.
Cause reflection of the diverse voices of people from various backgrounds even in our own country.
To demonstrate that studies show that students retain information longer by listening to stories as well as being a motivator for them to read more books about the subjects included in my programs.
My method of presenting the storytelling programs is to excite students’ participation through active listening as well as participation stories. Often the story is told using puppets (if age appropriate), magic tricks, story theater or perform a chant or action I teach them during the story telling.
The main indicator of progress of my programs is that the students are completely absorbed in my program, joining in, using listening skills, learning correct skills of how to attend a performance and by teacher feedback after the performance. Often I receive letters written by students about their experience in my program.
There are no factual assessments unless I am doing a residency for a particular curriculum tie-in. When requested, I can prepare a pre-test and post-test for the students involved. Otherwise, I can tell by their faces and participation that the students are learning and using listening and viewing strategies effectively. The students are demonstrating an awareness of understanding language by which culture is transmitted. The students are showing me that they are responding critically to storytelling.

I Remember Minna
An original dramatic presentation of Holocaust stories based on real lives to help students learn about the madness of the times that drove some to have courage despite their constant hunger, fear and abuse.
