Commission Approves Amended Noise Mitigation Plan
The Broward County Board of County Commissioners approved an amended Noise Mitigation Plan. The Aviation Department has forward the plan to the Federal Aviation Administration for approval.

Sound Insulation Progress
The Broward County Aviation Department is moving forward with the Voluntary Residential Sound Insulation Program. The Noise Mitigation Team invited the owners of 77 eligible homes to participate in January 2012. Construction will begin in May, 2013.
An additional 200 residences have been invited to participate in the program. These homes are in the design phase.

To see samples of the acoustical products, please visit the Outreach Center located at 200 E. Dania Beach Boulevard. The Outreach Center is open Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. or by appointment.

Early Action Voluntary Residential Sound Insulation Pilot Program
Sound Insulation Construction Complete
Construction to the homes included in the Voluntary Residential Sound Insulation Pilot Program began the first week of June 2011 and continued through September 2011.
As part of the Airport Expansion Program, the Pilot Program involved the installation of sound insulation materials to 48 residential units. The units are located in the City of Dania Beach and are close to Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. Acoustical improvements for these properties include upgrades to the "noise paths" into a home, particularly windows and doors.
